how do i put car subwoofer and amp in my house?

i have a pair of dual subs in a box and a 300 watt amp that i want to incorporate into my home stereo system, any suggestions?
i have a sony shelf system. are home amplifiers expensive?
i want to do this for relatively cheap.

Too much trouble. It would be better to get a home stereo amp. What is your current set up in the house?

Added: Do not buy a battery charger. Buy a power supply. But an amp is going to use too many amps for a cheap power supply. It would be cheaper (and better) in the long run to get a home stereo amp, like I already stated.

How to install car subwoofer?

I have an old amp 4 channels. I did connected 2 rear speakers to the amp. And now I have a brand new 12 in. sony subwoofer 1200W. When I connected to the amp, but it had small bass not like BUUUMMM!!! like black music. Can anyone show me how to make it right or I need something else?

if ur amp is rated at less than 1200W, then the sub wont get the 1200W it needs to make the boummmmm (unless its a Self Powered SUB).
also, ur car alternator may not be strong enough to power that.
sorry i gave so little info, but i am very pressed For time.

Can i take a car subwoofer and use it in the house?

i have 2 10′ subs that im taking out of my car and replacing with better ones….is there a way i can convert the power supply so i can use it in my house?

sure :)

What I need for a car subwoofer setup?

Ok I have been researching some subwoofers for my 1996 Lexus ES300. I think I’m going to go with two "JL 12W6v2".
What amp do I need to power these two subs?

Also I want to change out the factory car speakers with JL speakers.
Do I need anything extra to power the new speakers?

amp wise id go with the sundown saz 1500z it says its 800 at 2 ohm but its way underrated ive had a cea compliant amp thats was 1100 rms and the sundown did better at comp
as for the subs you are spending way to much by getting jl audio it is way over priced you could do so much better for the money and as for anything else for the factory speaks if you want it louder and to sound more clear you will need a good 4 channel amp id go with infinity or alpine for the 4 channel amp infinity makes great speakers to replace your factory speakers too

what is the best car subwoofer brand for the money?

ive heard jl audio, cerwin vega, kicker, rockford fosgate, among others. but i know there are better subs out there. which is the best sub out there?

FI Audio, Image Dynamics, Alpine, RE Audio, JL Audio are some of the best. But, bang for the buck in my opinion goes to Alpine Type R. They have some new ones at techronics for $115 I think. These get pretty loud.

How do you set up a car subwoofer to a computer?

my friend did it and i want to do it to.

Why not ask your friend? Why do you want to use a car sub? The easiest way is to just get a set of computers with a sub.

However if you do want to use a car sub you’ll need to figure out how your going to power it. To power any sub you need an amp. Car amps are DC and to plug it into your house you need AC voltage. So you’ll either need to buy a AC to DC converter or a AC amp like a receiver.

The other problem is getting the audio from the computer to the amp. You’ll need a Y cable that has a 3.5mm jack on one side and RCA on the other.

What amplifier should I get for the Dual Electronics XINBP212 Car Subwoofer?

This box came with a 460 watt Dual Amplifier but im afraid I should get something bigger like an 800 watt? Any ideas? Thanks

i bought Dual Audio subs about 9 months ago. Mine and your subs are both rated at 600 watt rms. Then i went to a car audio store and bought a Dual Audio XPA6100 amp. this is a 600 watt monoblock amp. My subs hit hard and sound great. If you want more power you can get a 600 watt rms rating, but i wouldnt go any higher.

Car Subwoofer/amplifier died because of dead battery. How do I fix?

I went out to my car this morning after work, and found that I had left the keys in with the power on (battery dead). No biggie, I just got a boost. After the boost I tried listening to music… and noticed that my subs weren’t playing.

I think the problem is from the amp since the lights aren’t on. Any ideas on solution to this problem?
Haven’t ever changed alternator or battery

check you in line fuse or circut breaker from the battery to the amp
jump starting your car may have blown it or tripped the breaker

I want to buy a car subwoofer and hook it up to my home CD player?

i have 2 slots left in the back of the cd player shouldnt the subwoofer come with a wire attatched to it i just hook it up to the back and it works right?
i dont understand how to hook it up though i mean in the bakc it has this thing that u push down and u put speaker wires into and it works is that all i do with the subs?

Hey man, I was trying to do the exact same thing a little while back. Let me be the the first to say that it is nearly IMPOSSIBLE. Technically you can hook up a car subwoofer to a home theater or stereo, but the voltage and ohms of resistance would have to be the same for both of them. Also, even if you managed to find a subwoofer with the right requirements, the power output for the CD player (in watts) would probably be about one one-hundredth of what it takes to drive an average subwoofer properly (that is assuming that you have a regular stereo system and not a VERY high output professional system). The only other way to power the sub is to buy a home theater amplifier with a built in crossover to filter out high range sounds. These are rather steeply priced. I’m sorry to say that I eventually gave up on trying. This is not to say that you can’t hook one up, but if you do it would act as no more than an over-sized version of what you already have hooked up to your stereo, only with less of a sound range.

what do I need for my car subwoofer?

I just bought a 10 inch xXx car subwoofer and it came with no cables and no screws to screw it to a subwoofer box.

The sub is 500 watts. What type of amp do i need?
and where do I get the cables to connect it.

As you can see im completly new to this. At the moment all I have is a subwoofer. So if anyone could help me out with what i need, ill really appreciate it.
thanks

well you are going to need a 500w amp and some wires(like RCA wire, speaker wire, ground and power suply wire, and rem wire) which you can get at an elecrtic store or in the farmes market (they sell them in a package wit all the wires you need usually were they sell subwoofers and amps) also you are going to need a new system if yours dose not have the RCA connections. if you have a stock radio then most posible it dose not have them. last you will need a box to put your sub in, you could either buy one (sold were they sell subwoofers and amps) or make one and buy screws to screw your sub in, screws sold in your harwere stores.
