My W6 emblem / logo fell off my subwoofer, What would be the best solution to put it back on without making a mess? I don’t want to use krazy glue , gorilla glue, etc The sticky glue that the factory uses will no longer hold it !! Someone with car audio knowledge give me some good advice !! Thanx
Here is the sub i have http://www.ryanackerman.com/images/sell/jlaudio06.jpg
theres a plastic emblem & adhesive by 3M that will work but only problem is it is very hard to apply with making a mess and takes a while to become hard and strong. your best option really is krazy glue. it liquidy so theres less mess and it drys fast and its easier to apply.
IS THAT BAD OR WHAT IF I GO FOR 550 WATTS ON 600 PEAK ??
That would produce more heat, which shortens its life, and on a JL voids its warranty, if used outside the "green" power range. Subs has voice coil heat dissipation technologies. Depending on the brand / product line you’re using this shortened life varies. For example Pioneer Premier T-W5000SPL used in dBDrag competions (each one powered by 4 externally bridged PRS-D5000SPL amps) even endured that kind of punishments! Most other competitors tore off their dustcaps in a drag, while W5000 was up for the next challenge!
Then is the true RMS, which is far less than what they state as "CEA" rating. Example: JBL Px300.4 is 123.5W RMS "CEA-rated" per channel, while in older documents it’s stated only 75W RMS, then you see a 50W per channel Premier PRS-A900 outperforms it. That’s becasue the A900 is rated at an insane 0.003 THD!!! If Power Acoustik achieves the A900 technology, they’d be listing it as 4×200W RMS!!!
I have a jl audio w6 and a jl audio 1000 w amp i got it when i bought my car and i was wondering if i could sell it (for how much) and if i could get the same sound out of something cheaper and what
Yeah – hold onto that stuff! Many people starting from scratch would love to go out and buy that stuff, and you already have it – i have a 13w6 powered by a Zapco amp and I love it – the only question would be to buy a sealed JL box or have a ported box built for you – I had the factory sealed box and it was great, but switched to a ported box about 3 months ago and the dif is night and day – go with a ported box, provided it is made specifically for your sub.
just look up the specs on the reccomended box, id reccomend sealed enclosure
the best match would be a jl amp. but pretty high price for both subs and amps. the jl.1000 will run around $1000. check out mtx. depends on what sub you go with on what amp you need since the 10’s are 750rms and the 10’s are 500rms. 1 thing i dont like about the jl’s is that that run at 3ohm or 1.5ohm which throws off your amp a little snce most amps are 4/2/1ohm.
check out the mtx9500 series also, i would take a 9500 over a w7. hit just as hard and 1/2 the price. so you can get 2 for what your paying for 1w7

i recently purchased a JL audio 250/1 amp and i hooked everything up and the speakers aren't putting out like they are suppose to,they just vibrate a little. And suggestions of what the problem my be?
one sub might be wired one way + and – and the other sub might be the other way – and + check the wire going to the subs. and the ohms might not be matching up right
Supposivly these subs rock. anyone ever had them?
i wouldnt buy 1 from ebay you just dont know what your gonna get and probably doesnt have a warranty. here is a few places to get a 15w3

ok i just bought a sub from my friend its a jl audio 10'
but i dont know the wattage….on the magnet it says 10w0-4
so can i run 300 watts through it because isnt 125watts rms recomended power handling?
RMS is the amount of power handling over extended time. Going over it will blow it. The peak power rating is only for short bursts. Match your amplifier RMS out to the subs RMS rating for the best sound quality and performance.
