i dont really care about how hard they hit.. i mean thats good and all.. but i want sound quality… anybody got advice for two 12’s…. on a budget… and am not going to spend 1000 dollars for jl audio. thanks

kenwood is nice too, but jl is the best.
i say you spend that money on one jl sub instead of two low quality subs.

i just got 2 jl audio subwoofers boxed and both 10 inches, i wanna know what kind of amp i will will need, will i need to know specifics to know what amp? or can i just get some amp that is compadable with all jl audios, if you know please sugesst and looking for about 100to 150 max price range hopefully a 1000 watt

look for used fosgate amps u only need a few hundred watts per channel for those speakers but to get real 1k. watts is impossible.

just get a mid to high end amp that boasts like 250 per channel.

even new fosgate u get the best watt per dollar but u will never find a 1k.w. amp for $100.00 plan on at least $300

I have 2 10′ kicker comps in my car now and it hits hard but looking for something to hit harder then that. I was just wondering if it would be worth it to put 300 more dollars in it to get rid of the kickers and get 2 10′ JL Audio w3? which sub should i go for?

If you want a lot more bass, get the W3’s. For tight, and accurate bass just get 10"s, but for rap(boomy and loud) bass, get 13.5" W3’s. They will blow your mind, and your eardrums! (if desired)

I have 2 10" JL Audio 10w3v2d4’s in my Nissan 350 Z. Right now I have a Fusion amp and its not getting the job done. The subs are 300 watts RMS with dual 4 ohm voice coils. Please help me with what amp I should get.

depends .. if you want those subs to give you nice clean deep bass go with the jl audio 500.1 i have a set up of 2 12 w3 on a 1000.1 jl and bro not evern a guy with 2 15 kicker l7 could touch me… trust go with the jl

Can a JL audio E1400d amp be enough power to run a JL AUDIO® 8W7 SUBWOOFER.If yes how would i need to set it up, and do i need to buy anything special for it, like a amp capacitor, special amp kit( any recommendations would be nice)etc
I am only trying to run only one sub

that will be all you need but you could get a bigger amp just in case you do decide to get another sub ,, as for the wiring if you install it your self all you need is a good amp kit 1000watt so you get all 4 gauge wire this will lessen the need for a cap or 2 alt , with is not necessary unless pushing more than 1500watts rms

I’ve search many BB’s and I need help.

I’ve done a few google searches in the past and i found there are two ways to do what i want.

1) Buy a PS that is powerful enough > 50 amp to power my current JL Audio 500/1 Car Amplifer.

2) Bypass the amp and buy a plate amp like a Bash SAM 500.

It seems to be pretty good quality but how does it compare to the Jl audio 500/1 amp i used in my car? Do you think it would be sufficent to run my Sub? Most of the time I’ve seen people say that it’s just to expensive to use a power supply >50 amps. I’ve seen them from $99.99 from RS for a 25 amp model to Tripplite PR50 $200.

It would be worth it to me to spend that much because this is a great subwoofer, but if i were to use one of these power supplies, how well would they work? Will there be alot of interference or noise? How efficient would they be? Would I be able to harness a realistic > 350 watts out of these amplifiers? I’ve the read pyramid 52k says it’s a 800 watt amp but….

get a dj amp and hook it up to your stereo then hook ur sub to that ? thats what i plan to do wit my 4 15" hope this helps pCe

Help I want to spend around 200 to 250$ will a 500/1 jl audio amp be a good amp or is it to small

The 500/1 would be perfect but might cost 300$ or more.

I have always loved jl audio subs. but i was wondering if there is a difference in sound quality with the new style or looking jl subs. I admitt i ,do like the new jl look but before i go out and upgrade my 3 10"w6 subs. Besides in just wanting the new jl subwoofers look am i getting a better sub. Or should i just keep what i have???

check the specs, if they have changed then you KNOW the sub is better, but as a rule when they change the look of subs and the specs have not changed the subs quality is better (sound and/or durability)
its rare that they would change the look for just cosmetic reasons

i have two 10 inch jl audio subwoofers that arent in a box. they are the 10w1v2 4 ohm. they are used but sound great still.

You can get them new for $80 on ebay.

So, somewhere around 50-60$ for used ones.
