i personally have a JL right now and am currently looking to go something better down the line. i read about Fi subwoofers but i have never heard of the brand and it’s not even in local audio shops (checked at least 10 no one heard of the brand) so i was wondering if Fi is reliable
is it better to go with a JL W6 or a Fi Q both 12"
and what would be a good 1000w amp to match Fi Q?
dude, I know jl audio!…but in my”opinion” i would easily take that Fi sub!
not very popular, but one of the best top brands out there!
Don’t get me wrong the w6 is very nice, but Fi hands down, not all the hype, and have people wondering what you got, and be like it ain’t no mainstream bullsh*t, its Fi.
lol.
Hope I helped.
look at the watts on the sub. the RMS.
get massive audio. its the best.
I have one JL Audio 12W1v2-4 subwoofer and one JL Audio A2150 amplifier. It’s already installed and everything. If I wanted to add another pair, would the wiring really be a hassle? Or would it install just as easy?
EDIT: Also, could I buy a box that holds two subs instead of buying another box that holds one? That way, they’d be right there together instead of two separate boxes/subs.
"could I buy a box that holds two subs instead of buying another box that holds one? That way, they’d be right there together instead of two separate boxes/subs"
as long as both subs are identical and both ran from the same amp.

That is too much power for that sub. The sub is rated for 750w rms and the amp is 1000w rms. That is too great a gap to for the sub. Since that amp will push 1000w like it is rated for the sub won’t last too long before it eventually fails.
I have a JL Audio 12" subwoofer, and a 1600 watt Sony amplier, with a Audiobahn capacitor. I recently wrecked my car, and took out my sound system. However, I was wondering, how I could connect my subwoofer to my laptop, or use it as a home subwoofer, and how the amp could be powered.
Get a power supply that matches your amp’s power specs to power your amp. If you just want to use your sub , you’ll have to use raise the impedance since most domestic sound systems work with 8 ohm speakers. get another sub or connect a 4 ohm resistance.
I have an 8 ohm JL Audio car subwoofer that has been in my car. Since selling my car, I would really like to use the subwoofer as it sounds great. I want to use this in my home, but unsure on how to hook it up. I know that home theaters or home audio use an 8 ohm impedence. What do I need to do to hook up the subwoofer to the receiver?
I know it is direct w/speaker wire, but I want to do it via my LFE connection on the back of my receiver (which is 1 wire).
You will need a powered amplifier, single channel, or two channel bridgeable and stable at 8 ohms. It will be another component to your home stereo. You should be able to find one at your favorite electronics store, or somewhere like crutchfield.com. Connect everything, should be an "RCA" coming from your receiver, and standard speaker wires from the amp, and now you have huge sound effects for your movies.
i plan to get a high power audio system out of this list what is better. amplifier rockford/jl audio/hifonics? and for the subwoofer jl audio w7/kicker solox/orion or/fi audio? i don’t care how much $ it cost but i do have a limit 4,000$ is all i can spend.
rockford and JL are good amps, either/or
and kicker or orion for the subs…
if I had my druthers, I’d go orion amp, and JL or kicker subs, but that’s just me…
Just wanted to know if there are any subs that are cheaper than the 13W7’s but hit just the same or better. Thanks
My opinion, tons. RE has several. Me, I like my rockford T215’s. Sadly enough though, with a question like this, you will hear every company under the sun and people will bash other companies, so just research some places.
I am looking to get a system for my car. it is a 2004 nissan pathfinder and was leaning towards buying a Sony 2-Channel Xplod Amplifier, MTX Dual 12 Subwoofer Enclosure, Sony 12 Xplod Subwoofer from circuit city. the link for this item at circuit city is

is this a good system? You cant beat the price. Which is better this or a jl 10 w6 with a 500 watt amp?
I have that amp and it rocks. I went with two Blaupunkt TSw1200 12’s and 4th order Bandpass Bass box I designed.
This amp is CEA-2006 Compliant as well which means it produces the watts is says it does.
It’s 200 Watts RMS X 2 @ 4 ohms
or 250 Watts RMS X 2 @ 2 ohms
or 500 Watts RMS X 1 @ 4 ohms
You just can’t beat a home built box. Most of the time better than a store bought one.
Heres a link for some good tips:
