Where can I find an MECP certified car audio installer in Alpharetta/Roswell, GA?

I just bought a 2005 Pontiac GTO. I have the completed sound system from my old car and just need it professionally installed into my new ride. I am looking for stealth, and sound quality, nothing flashy. I have MB Quart Q-series components, a JL Audio 10W7 sub, two JL Audio amps, and an Alpine 9855 head unit. I also have a bulk kit of Dynamat Xtreme that I need installed into my trunk and doors.

I will not use HiFi Buys in Roswell due to a bad experience with them. I am now considering other options, and hopefully someone on here can refer me to a high-quality, reputable shop with plenty of references. I would prefer not to drive all the way to Marietta, Lawrenceville, etc. It is not a requirement, but someone with experience on the 2004-2006 GTO will be helpful.

Hello. I cant completely answer your question, but maybe I can help. I dont believe in "big-box" car audio companies. Support your independent, local shops. Also remember that just because someone has a piece of paper saying that they know something, isnt always the best way. I am not MECP cert, but only because I dont make any more money to get the paper. However, I do have 16 years of professional experience that speaks for itself. Just dont think that book knowledge makes one the best choice over another. Look at some demo cars and other installs. Again, support the individually owned shops. They tend to care more about you and your business. Maybe I helped.

Which is the best car audio company?

I’ve heard that JL Audio is good but pricy. Also heard that Alpine, Polk, and Kicker are really good. But I dont know which one to get. Can someone please help me. I dont need a award winning system, but I want it loud. I listen to almost every genre of music. And I plan to get in car speakers only for now. And my budget is about 300-350

Thanks. If you need more info let me know! (:

Pioneer. Good and inexpensive. Alpine is ok, too.

I want to set up my car audio system in my basement. How do i go about doing this?

I have 2 12" Kicker solobaric L7’s & a JL Audio 1000 watt amp.

The costs and trade-offs of trying to do that make just buying a good but not expensive home audio system far more logical.

You would need a power converter, for one thing, because car audio gear doesn’t run off of house power.

Also, car speakers have to be small and configured to work within a car’s interior; The acoustical environment in a house is quite different, so a car system setup in a house won’t sound the same that it does in it’s car.

Spend a few hundred bucks and just buy some proper home gear; if you have no need for the car equipment, sell it off to help pay for the new home gear.

How can I attain better highs with my car audio system?

I have a 2007 Scion tC, and I installed a JL Audio W3 (12"), JL Amp, and sealed box. In order to get more highs, should I buy tweeters, or replace my factory front and rear speakers?

replace the factory speakers with some component speakers and get a 4-ch amp you will have WAY better highs you will have better mids also

What is the best way to install my car audio system?

I have a JL audio 1000 watt amp & 2 12" Solo-Baric L7’s. What other optional pieces of equipment will I need or suggest? I want it to be the loudest it possibly can be.

If your total system power is 1000 watts RMS or more, you will need to:

1. Upgrade the alternator to a high output alternator
2. Upgrade to a heavy duty deep cycle battery
3. Upgrade the "Big 3" – that is to replace the power wire between the battery and alternator, the ground from the battery to the chassis and the ground strap from the engine/tranny to the chassis with at least 1/0 AWG wire.

If your total system power is 800 watts RMS or more, you will need to:

1. Upgrade to a heavy duty deep cycle battery
2. Upgrade the "Big 3"

Failure to do this will result in you replacing them anyway as the alternator will eventually fail.

Here is a guide that will calculate what size alternator and power wires you need http://www.datafilehost.com/download.php?file=6d26c621

A second battery is never a good idea as it’s an added strain on the alternator to charge two batteries AND supply power for the car. The ONLY time a second battery is useful is if the audio system is to be used with the car off.

A cap is only good so far as the audio system isn’t trying to pull too much from the electrical system. A cap doesn’t provide more power, it’s designed to ’stiffen’ the voltage to the amp, nothing esle. If the current isn’t there, a cap won’t help. The alternator must have at least 20% more amperage power than the entire vehicle and sound system combined for a cap to be of benefit which is ironically the same requirements for an amp to be efficient.

What amp should I get to push 2 JL Audio w3v3 13.5"?

I’m selling the car audio system I currently have and I’m planning on buying 2 JL Audio W3v3 13.5" subwoofers and I need to know what amp would push them. To begin with I’m just getting 1 subwoofer and when I get the money I’m getting the second one. Any help is appreciated.

Get 2 13W3v3-2’s, wire them parallel for a 1-ohm load and run them with an old school Orion HCCA2100 amp bridged mono. Don’t forget an extra alternator, stiffening cap and battery.
