the subs will come with screws and you just screw them in and make sure you screw them in good or they will rattle and make the sound awful References :
Most people just use wood screws, but the best way is to drill holes through the box at the screw locations, then install T-nuts on the inside. http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?&Partnumber=081-1070 Then the sub can be installed with machine screws. The advantage is that repeatedly removing and replacing the sub won’t damage the box. In addition, you can find machine screws with tamper-resistant heads, which makes it more difficult to steal your subs. http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?&Partnumber=260-846
You’ll also want to use some sort of gasket material between the subwoofer basket and the box, to seal the gap and make it airtight. References : MECP-certified car audio installer
Follow KaeZoo’s advise….he’s right on the money…..over the years i have built systems and seen systems built ….that includes subs ripping right out off a box……due the screws would not hold due to power and other factors References : installer 81-99 Mecp cert 96-99( considering re entering business in sales as well a consultant)

Some of the installs were even wilder. Not everything was quite so extreme; there were some higher end cars with some tasteful systems. But the festival had a lo […]
