jl is a higher quality but overpriced, it can be outperformed by cheaper brands. i would go with rockford fosgate power series not the punch. if you buy mtx you have to buy the high end stuff because the cheap mtx stuff is worthless.
all in all, if you have the money JL if not Rockford Fosgate. References :
