Can I install a second subwoofer and amp in my car if I already have one set?

I have one JL Audio 12W1v2-4 subwoofer and one JL Audio A2150 amplifier. It’s already installed and everything. If I wanted to add another pair, would the wiring really be a hassle? Or would it install just as easy?
EDIT: Also, could I buy a box that holds two subs instead of buying another box that holds one? That way, they’d be right there together instead of two separate boxes/subs.

"could I buy a box that holds two subs instead of buying another box that holds one? That way, they’d be right there together instead of two separate boxes/subs"

as long as both subs are identical and both ran from the same amp.

you can put as much speaker out put in you car as long as you have the power to run them,

but beware huge output can damage the structure of your vehicle. there was one van i saw in Edinburgh, had its interior covered in speakers, they use it for vip’s

but it needs serviced more often, because the vibrations it puts out can cause things to come loose

first answer…u can as long as space and power allows….u might need a bigger amp(more watts) also wiring is a hassle unless u know how to do it well. but some install can be seemless….

second answer…u can buy a speaker box that can house both speakers but let me tell u…dont go with a box….boxes are hassles…go with a layout.

Sure. You can also put a second engine under the hood if the notion strikes you, but why would you want to do either?

    YES YOU CAN!!!!!

In fact, as a true car audio enthusiast, I encourage it.
For the subs, I would actually RECOMMEND you get a box that’ll hold two subs. It’ll look a WHOLE lot better.

As far as the amps are concerned, depending on how powerful your amp is, and what the wattage of the subs are, you just might be able to run two subs off of the one amp that you already have installed.
If not, you could replace the amp you have now with one that is powerful enough to push both subs. I would recommend this before installing another amp, simply because it would be the easiest.

is that a JL Audio ‘E’2150 amp? If so, then you wouldn’t need another amp at all. You could simply get the second sub, get a box that holds both of them, bridge the amp and wire the subs in parrallel.

  7. I should say, as very much as I enjoyed reading what you had to express, I couldnt help but lose interest following a while. Its as in case you had a great grasp on the theme matter, but you forgot to contain your readers. Perhaps you must think about this from a lot more than one particular angle. Or possibly you shouldnt generalise so a lot. Its far better if you think about what others may well have to express rather than just going to get a gut reaction towards the topic. Consider adjusting your own thought process and giving other people who might understand this the benefit from the doubt.
