I heared the bigger the subwoofer box is then you will get more bass out of your subs and my subs are 1200 watts each JBL GTO’s and Im running two 500 watt amps JBL GTO’s for each sub is this a good setup and if the box is bigger then will I get more bass out of it because I custom built my own box and it is almost twice as big as a normal sub box that holds two 12’s
you need to go by the specs of the company for that sub. if you made it twice as big as it is recommended you will hurt your subs
You should follow the manufacturers recommendations for best performance. Too large of a box can cause the subs to "unload" or go into excursion which isn’t good.

A larger enclosure will mean a lower bass response but not more SPL.
You are going to be best off using the manufacturer’s recommendations, like sparky said, or by modeling your sub in an enclosure program like WinISD. This can show you what enclosure will work best with the type of music you want. You need some experience to tell what enclosure will work, though.
