I am getting 2 12" Alpine Type R subwoofers and I need a box to put them in and i am planning of buying it at audio express so they can install it for 1$. What kind of subwoofer box should I get?
It would be better to have one built (or build it yourself). Those prefab boxes at the store are usually junk. It is not hard to build a box. The Type R subs can be used in a sealed or ported box. If you want a ported box, you don’t just cut a hole in a sealed box. The diameter and the length of the port, along with box volume, determine what the tuning frequency is. How much space do you have for the box? That $1 install is a joke. They will charge you more, by adding stuff to it. Like wire or other stuff. Good choice of subs, btw. I am thinking of getting a pair myself. References : Been doing car audio for 22 years.
These guys are the kings of junk rock. That's what I like to call it anyway. It's a compliment. I don't know what made me think of Ween now. Sometimes it's probably better not to think of Ween. But I did and I thought of this song. Actually I was thinking of another Ween song, their tribute to Prince—or maybe it's their parody of the […]

With the article on the BMW 550i which shows you how to create a vent into the vehicle cabin we thought it would be appropriate and helpful to some to go over some fundamentals on which way to point woofers and how to address issues related to the trunk. —Ben Oh Questions: I have an '06 Buick LaCrosse with 12s in a sealed enclosure pointed forward in th […]
We love custom cars as much as the next guy, but some of the vehicles on display at the Lexani event were off the chart! Car club, Nokturnal, had a large crew at the show with a wild range of rides. Some of the installs were even wilder. Not everything was quite so extreme; there were some higher end cars with some tasteful systems. But the festival had a lo […]
