i would go with the vented and if you plan on building your own box i would get someone to design the box for you because the size of the port is everything References :
To me, it depends on the type of music you listen to and how much room you have to spare. A ported/vented box is bigger then a sealed box. I prefer sealed boxes because I like the tight bass for my Heavy Metal / Rock music. But I think ported sounds better for cRap. References : RAW
